Do NOT use Orbitz or Expedia
I've had two bad experiences with these (they are the same company) in regards to changing hotel reservations. Avoid or expect pain and expense (yours).
In both cases i THOUGHT i was making a reservation, not a pre-paid booking. In the first case my flight was cancelled and i couldn't make the hotel reservation. It took 5 or more calls and repeated stalling before i got the amount refunded.
Last week I used Orbitz for a hotel reservation. Or what i thought was a reservation, instead the full cost of the stay was charged to my card. A few days later i needed to adjust the reservation but Orbitz was completely unavailable after 4 or 5 attempts. At each call (you won't even get to a CS rep if you follow the correct prompts- that will dump you into a dead line- you have to try something they want, like a new reservation to reach a human), i was told that the 'system was down' and could "i call back after an hour". After four rounds of this, on different days, it became obvious that this is a tactic.
I'm now contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge. And remember, this is IN ADVANCE of a stay!
So - avoid orbitz!
This person wrote the review because of return, exchange or cancellation policy at Orbitz. Reviewer claimed that he or she lost $995 and wants Orbitz to issue a full refund.
The most disappointing in user's experience was non-existent customer service and deceptive advertising. The author asks this business to immediately contact him/ her to briefly discuss his/ her negative experience with the company.
