Orbitz has you pay for Travel Insurance (through AIG) - But refuses to refund if you are sick and even if you cancel over 48 hrs in advance!! This IS a B.S.

rip off! Given my A-Fib and prior stroke, I took out travel Insurance on Orbitz! A few days prior to the trip, my Arterial fibrillation was out of sync with a resting pulse jumping to 200 bpm. I cancelled my Hotel in Ft Lauderdale over 48 hrs prior to my scheduled arrival.

Orbitz called the hotel (while I was on hold) - but the hotel refused any refund. I made a claim on the Travel Insurance with AIG.

AIG refused to refund with a letter from my doctor or the emergency Room. This is another example of ripping OFF Consumers!!

I always go directly to the travel insurance provider and not thru Orbitz because the provider will be the party who pays your claim. Orbitz wont help.

GENERALI www.generalitravelinsurance.com (used to be CSA) paid our claim. Go where the customer service is good.
